Awards to the success and professional legitimization of actors and/or directors are important for anyone and everyone no matter their race, so awards to the success and professional legitimization of Black American actors and/or directors are very important.  If a white actor and/or director gets an award for their success, nobody really thinks anything of it because it always happens and has become the norm, but if a Black American actor and/or director gets an award for their success, everyone notices because it grabs their attention.  For being a community that does not get a lot of attention, awards for their success would make their community better and help their community rise.  It gives them motivation to continue to act and/or direct more films for the Black community.
