Although I find mainstream cinema more entertaining overall, there are some differences I notice and some things I wish Hollywood should do differently. Mainstream obviously has more financial backing and more of the necessary resources to make a innovative and quality film. But in some ways I feel as though Hollywood is afraid to experiment with innovation and scared to task risks overall because of what they believe the fans might think. Mainstream films are also more clichè and predictable. Once a tactic within a film works, whether it be the delivery of a quotable line or the suspenseful ending to a film, Hollywood seems to try to emulate those same moments in later projects. An example of a risk taking and very innovative film is The Terminator, which is a famous indy film that released in 1984. The futuristic weaponry and dominant personality of this foreign character made this indy film groundbreaking and very hard to forget.
