Bobo article

I feel like I took a different perspective when reading this because I have seen the movie and read the book as well. Personally,  I loved both, but I can see how Bobo and others would possibly find some issues with how the movie was made and the changes from novel to screen. I don't feel that Bobo throws Spieldberg completely under the bus, but she does make valid points about the changes in the female and male characters. The female characters were strong in the book but were less represented thar way in the movie; however,  while this is fairly accurate, blaming the director alone I think is unfair. I think no matter what, it is difficult adapting a novel to the big screen, especially one as powerful and issue packed as "The Color Purple." That's why even though we can find fault in the movie, it was still powerful for me and an emotional viewing.
